River Oaks Golf Club, is a Semi-Private, 18 hole golf course located near the Feather River, 17 minutes north of Sacramento off Highway 99 in Nicolaus, California.
River Oaks Golf Club, first opened for play as Rio La Paz Golf Club in 2000. The course was designed by Peter Jacobsen.
The par-71 course plays 6,505 yards from the black tees, 6,037 from the blues, 5,401 from the whites and 4,740 from the reds. Most of the fairways are wide and generous, but hitting approach shots onto the course's target greens will challenge low handicap players while providing a fair, enjoyable round of golf for all skill levels.
The course offers a chance to play golf in a peaceful, natural setting.

Senior rates for weekdays makes this worth the drive out of Sacramento. Pace of play is maintained. The course conditions are very good even during winter play. We play River Oaks 3 or 4 times each month.

This course is a little too far from Sacramento, which may explain the low useage. I like the course overall; it's a bargain on the weekends when other courses get very pricey. The greens are decent, the fairways a little less so. Most guys would play the blue tees to get a decent challenge--the whites are very short.

The distance for the ladies is a little short from the red tees. Consider playing the white tees if you want a truer distance for your game.

Somewhat isolated with few distractions. Good value.
